1. My English progress from 2009-2011

I have been studying English since First of Primary School, but the last two years is when I have learnt more.
In First of Batxillerat my first written work was an email to the teacher, where I introduced myself. In this presentation I think that I didn’t have spelling mistakes, but my language wasn’t so well expressed and I used very few connectors. All this, I have improved in my last writings, now I express myself better and use more connectors. I still think that I must improve when I conjugate verbs, because I make mistakes and it is very hard to do.
As for oral presentations, last years it was about snowboarding, where I talked about its history, characteristics, where it is practiced … It was my first oral presentation I was very nervous and this meant that sometimes I read, which was the opposite of my last one when I presented my research project, in addition my pronunciation in the first was not very good and I must still improve. The language of my first presentation wasn’t fluid but now it is correct. However I think that the most important when doing an oral presentation is not to get nervous and I am still like this.

2. My English competence in 2010

If I choose my best oral presentation I would say it was the last oral presentation, when I talked about my research project, called analysis of Garcia de Pou, I chose this because it’s a project that needed a lot of work and it is a subject that I love and I hope to do in the future. In addition in this presentation I think that I had good control my movements and in other presentations. I didn’t the most important thing in the oral presentation was that I spoke very well.
With reference to my best writing I don’t know what to choose because all of them are very similar and there isn’t one that stands out about the others. Despite this I think that I would choose last three news items because I think that the topics that I have chosen are very good.

In conclusion, I recognize that my level of English is fair; I think that it is my fault and also part of the blame is the kind of education system we have.
On the one hand it is my fault because it is very difficult for me to learn languages, and as always, in everything you should try harder. However, on the other hand I think that the education system of English isn’t well organized because we do few hours; I think that in primary school there should be some subjects in English and in this way the level in English of each pupil would be very high and we wouldn’t have problems now.

My friend's father was a bee keeper. He worked in Castelló d'Empúries and a long time ago this job was good. However because of the crisis now he doesn't work, because bee keeping is a job that is dying out and now they earn less money.
A- Hi Joan, how long have you been working as a bee keeper?
B- Since I was twenty.
A- Why did you decide to be a bee keeper?
B- Because, my father was a bee keeper. When I was child, I used to help him while he was working?
A- Yes I understand.
A- Dou you think, that this kind of job he changed a lot during the years?
B- Yes, before there were more bees than now because of the climatic change and this has affected the production and also the benefits.
A- Do you think that the crisis has affected your job, because is affects every kind of jobs, doesn't it?
B- Yes, but in addition because of global warming.
A- What a shame, but it is true, isn't it?
B- Yes.
A- Is there anybody in your family who wants to continue with this style of life?
B- Nowadays all the young people in my family want to do other jobs.
A- Okay, thank you for your time. I hope that things will be better for you in the future.
B- I hope so.

In 50 years, in single lifetime, the earth has been more radically changed than by a previous generation of humanity.

By 1800, in Britain and the rest of continental Europe after, there was an industrial revolution, a set of transformations which caused the true turning point in evolution. And here is where the causes of what is happening now.
So it is true that in 1950, after the second world war, started capitalism begins to be established worldwide, and this entails that each country cannot make war on their own, but to act together. Moreover until 1950 it was believed that a developed country  was one that had many industries, but from these years there was a very important change of mentality, from now, developed countries will be those that don’t  industries in his territory, so developed countries moved the industries in to underdeveloped countries. For this reason the bosses of these companies contaminate without control, there are fines for those who pass a limit.
All this affects the world, for example the problem with dusts, each year the surface decrease and this will cause the extinction of polar bears.
Another thing that is happening is that each year that passes the number of forests reduces.
I think what has happened so far cannot be fixed, for this reason we cannot regret what is done but what we have to do is change the consumer mindset.

Observation of my oral presentation
In my oral presentation I used a power point for recourse. On the power point there were some images about the subject. Also I use the support. And presentation lasted more on less 5 minutes.
During the presentation I looked at the people of the class a bit, in particular I look at the teacher. Moreover, sometimes I read notes, but in the last paragraph I read all of it. All through the presentation I use a few gestures.
The grammar of the oral presentation was correct and varied with phrasal verbs and topic-related vocabulary. I used some sentences linkers; with, and, also, moreover, etc. And pause fillers.
My pronunciation was correct, but some words were difficult to pronounce. I think that I could improve the tone of voice.
From my self-evaluation I think I could improve a little in everything, but on the other hand I think that I didn't do too badly. For this reason I think I deserve a 6.

Dialogue

-Hi David, how are you?
+Hi Xavi, I am very well
-Have you got a moment to talk?
+Yes, tell me
-Mmm, I’ll tell you, the other day when I went shopping in Figueres I saw your girlfriend with her previous boyfriend.
+It can’t be true. She told me that afternoon she was with her girlfriends.
-Moreover it’s not the first time that I have seen them together since they quit.
+It’s impossible; they haven’t spoken to each other since they argued.
-Ok. I’m only telling you what I saw.

Human Rights

1. What are human rights?
Human rights are rights and freedoms to which all humans are entitled. They can exist as shared norms of actual human moralities or as legal rights.

2. When did human rights start?
The human rights movement emerged on the 10th December 1918 from former socialists in Eastern and Western Europe, with contributions from the USA and Latin America.

3. Why were they created?
To protect people and to give them the some rights and freedoms no mattesir ther religions or race.

4. How many haven rights are there?
There are 30 articles based on human rights. All of them are about different subjects but they are related in some way.

5. Which human rights were you not familiar with?
I am not familiar with copyright, because I think that the information is free and equal for everybody.

6. Chose one human right and discuss?
Don’t discriminate. I chose this human right because in my country I think there is still some discrimination although it has improved a lot, for example when people are applying for a job, depending on the person they can get the job or not. I think that in the past no country respected discrimination, I believe that discrimination is not respected in under developed countries, for example South American countries.

7. Are human rights relevant in the world today?
Yes they are. But there are some human rights that are not respected in some countries, for example in Abu Dhabi they don’t respected the rights of the workers. Everything is controlled by the government and people are not allowed to express their opinions. There are also a lot of differences between men and women in many countries, for example women who do the same job as a man is often paid less money.
